​Q: WHEN DO YOU SEND LETTERS?
A: We send letters everyday before 12 noon except for holidays such as these:
January:  New Year's Day and Martin Luther King Jr Day
February: President's Day
March:Memorial Day
July:Independence Day
September: Labor Day
October: Columbus Day
November: Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day
December: Christmas Day

Q: WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE IN ORDER TO SEND A LETTER?
A: We need a full name of a detainee(First, middle, Last), Alien# and the facility. In addition, if we are having issues locating the detainee, their date of birth and country of origin is very helpful

​Q: HOW CAN A DETAINEE REPLY TO ME?
A: The detainee can reply to you directly if you give DearYous permission to share your address. Otherwise, the detainee can send a letter to the DearYous P.O. Box and we will email the letter to you or forward the letter to you if you are located in the U.S

​Q: HOW WILL I KNOW IF MY LETTER HAS BEEN SENT?
​We will notify you by email after we post your letter.

​Q: IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY LETTERS I CAN SEND?
​​A: Yes, there is. You can only send two letters in a week (except in an emergency). We also reserve the right to refuse to send a letter or to no longer send letters on your behalf.

​Q: CAN I SEND A LETTER WITH JUST ONE OR TWO SENTENCES?
A: No. Dearyous is not a text message service. We only send messages that are the length of a letter ( for example one page at least). We also reserve the right to refuse to send a letter or to no longer send letters on your behalf.

Q. HOW MANY PAGES CAN I SEND IN ONE LETTER?
A: Per detention policy, only 3 pages are allowed in each letter.
